24 Buenos Aires Hidden Gems for Food & Fun
In my opinion, all of these beautiful places are severely underrated within the city of Buenos Aires. It took years for me to build this list. I gift it to you so that you may discover the magic of Buenos Aires.
Regardless of which Neighborhood you are staying in Buenos Aires, all of these places are just a short cab ride (or walk) away. I have a separate list for working cafes to visit as well.

Food
Las Violetas – Stunning 19th Century cafe with stain glass windows and an exquisite array of baked goods.
Malcriada – BEST chocolate cake ever.
Tigre Morado – Delicious Peruvian food. Overpriced compared to other Peruvian spots, but worth it. Has surprisingly good sushi.
Condarco – My secret spot. Menu is small plates of classic Argentinian dishes that changes seasonally. They don’t take reservations so go early!
Grandes Carnicerias del Plata – Argentinian steakhouse with some of the best food & service in town. Just being there will make you feel rich.
Fujisan – Best sushi in the city.
Delhi Mahal – Best Indian in the city.

Pizza
I don’t like Argentinian style pizza … These are both Napoletana style:
Pizza Data – Literally just a hole-in-a-wall so be prepared to eat standing on the sidewalk. I promise it’s worth it!
Atte. Pizzeria Napoletana – Great food with a romantic date-worthy ambiance. Cute little bar next door.
Ice Cream
Tufic – Most high-quality variety around. The more popular Rapa Nui is a block away. But it’s more crowded and has less flavors.
Finde Heladeria – BEST pistachio ice cream ever. Super cute seating area and decor if you want to hang out for a bit.

Markets
Feria de Mataderos – Artisan market full of traditional Argentinian goods like dulce de leche liquor, handmade leather bags, and platefuls of fresh barbecued meats.
Mercat Villa Crespo – 3 floor Asian fusion food market with a comic shop and co-working space.
Bars
Backroom Bar – Bookstore with a bar inside. It’s usually full so make sure to reserve ahead of time.
Club Lucero – Adorable beer garden with chill vibes and yummy cocktails.
Makena – Best on Sunday nights when a local band and some of the best DJs in town perform live.

Bookstores
Eterna Cadencia and Libros del Pasaje – Bookstores with cafes inside.
Feria de Libros Plaza Italia – Incredible vintage book & magazine flea market. Some of the stands have been there for decades.
El Ateneo Grand Splendid – Grand theater turned into a book store.

Parks
Parque Centenario – Full of people relaxing, exercising, and sipping mate. Has used book stands on one side and a flea market on the weekends.
Jardin Botanico Greenhouse – Only open Saturdays & Sundays 5-6PM. The rest of the garden is open all day. Gorgeous and relaxing place.
Extras
Paseo de las Artes Pedro de Mendoza – 3 Gallery buildings full of local art. It’s located under a highway in Bocas – be careful not to walk around alone late at night.
Pasaje Echeverría in Barrio Chino – 2 blocks full of cute place to go on a little food & drink tour.
