1 Trip Everyone Should Do Once in Their Life
You guessed it, a SOLO TRIP.
Everyone is so intimidated by a solo trip, but I’m telling you once you go you will understand why they are amazing. Everything you do, from sun up to sun down is for you. You decide where you go, when, and for how long. You get the chance to meet more people and connect with yourself on a deeper level.
Here are some solo trip ideas that I have taken myself and highly recommend, especially for someone starting out:

Rest & relaxation
Think of this as a honeymoon – but with yourself. The key is choosing the perfect stay to set the tone for your trip. Options include: fancy hotel with great amenities, an all-inclusive resort to minimize thinking, or, my favorite, a private AirBnb with an incredible view. I stayed here once and wept every day during sunset.
Places: DR, Mexico, Greece, Bali
Hiking Adventure
Become Cheryl Strayed. Or, if that’s too intense, stay in a cabin near majestic trails, hike during the day, and eat fancy dinners at night. I did this twice in El Chalten, Argentina. The trails were always full of people so I never felt scared or abandoned. I also made sure to download maps and consistently keep track of my location.
Places: U.S. National Parks, Patagonia, Madeira

Cultural Exploration
I recommend this for food, history, and music lovers. Try to go to multiple regions so that you get a well-rounded idea of what a country has to offer. For example: Peru has Coastal, Rainforest, and Andean regions, each with its own cuisine, landscapes, and activities. Each place is its own world within the same country.
Places: Peru, India, Turkey, Italy
City Trip
This is similar to the previous one but exclusive to cities which makes it even easier. Try to find a good mix of locals and foreigners. This way, you can both learn about the authentic culture and meet like-minded travelers. Chances are any travelers are looking to do the same activities as you.
Places: Lisbon, Mexico City, Paris & Rome
Cruise or Live Aboard
I’ve never been on a cruise but I’m sure it’s the easiest way to solo travel as all the food, transportation, accommodation, and activities have been previously arranged. A great alternative is LiveAboard with listings that include scubadiving and/or snorkeling in some of the most beautiful reefs around the world.
Places: Carribbean, Mediterranean, Galapagos
